What types of services does a Rehabilitation Neuropsychologist provide?
Neuropsychological assessments help to understand how aspects of brain function affect day-to-day activities such as working or living alone. During a neuropsychological assessment examinees participate in an interview (1-2 hours) as well as tests that evaluate different areas of cognition, such as attention, memory, and executive functioning. Test administration can last anywhere from 2-8 hours and 3-5 hours for scoring and report preparation. This does not include the time spent for record review. Each case varies in terms of the volume of record review required.
Rehabilitation neuropsychology interventions (including health and behavior interventions and psychotherapy) are targeted therapies effective in addressing many problems including poor sleep, coping with injury or illness or pain, compensating for cognitive impairments, as well as managing persistent post concussive symptoms and long COVID. Interventions are typically 45-50 minute appointments tailored to the problems being address and may include:
Cognitive and behavioral therapy

Motivational Interviewing
Mindfulness based interventions / hypnosis and meditation
